Welcome!

Natural organic forms are the essence of my work. Together with color and rhythmic shape patterns these forms create an energy that defines my visual world and imparts an enriched meaning of the commonplace to the viewer.

My work is not about visual reality, but rather a joyous view of the natural world around us. The wonder of light, the subtleties and complexity of color, the rhythmic force of nature and the individual’s rhythm within those forces are the questions I continue to address.

L.P. STREITFELD, Special Art Correspondent of The Advocate and Greenwich Times wrote:

“Virginia Zic’s transcendent “Sylvan Haven” functions as something of a call to mutual pleasure. Shimmering purple hues of ink-drenched blotted paper appear to be waves of energy lapping upward. This seamless integration of color and form suggests an evolving consciousness connecting natural elements of transformation — the beehive and cocoon — into a riot of self-reflecting patterns illuminating and shadowing the cycle of life and death.”
